The Land and Water Forum met between August 2009 and September 2010, and again between September 2011 and October 2012.
The Forum reported to the Government in September 2010 with overall recommendations for 'a fresh start for fresh water'. It reported to the Government in April 2012 with recommendations on limits-setting mechanisms, including governance arrangements, for water quality, quantity and allocation. It reported to the Government again in September 2012 with recommendations about how to achieve and manage these limits, in particular in terms of the land use management and water allocation systems.
The Forum is to meet again in July 2013 to assess the Government's response to our reports and to consider what future role if any it might seek to play in relation to land and water management, and how it might best constitute itself in order to do so.
